His explanation for becoming Sasuke's henchmen where BS. He claims he pledged his elegance to Sasuke because Sasuke didn't copy him? What kind of sense does that make? I think he's just saying that because he doesn't want to lose to Sasuke while he has ninjutsu. He had an excuse because he was handy capped last time but now he doesn't.

orochimaru sucks hes weak as crap and gets oneshotted by fodder genjutsu.

Orochimaru is interested in Sasuke's path. All his life there were people who were calling Orochimaru a genius, following Orochimaru as a leader no matter what he did, worshipping Orochimaru as a god, even copying Orochimaru after his "death".
And then here comes along this guy, Sasuke, his highest disciple, who has surpassed him and didn't stoop to anything else his other followers did. Orochimaru is a scientist. Scientists are curious. Orochimaru wants to watch Sasuke because he's interested in what he'll do.
He's not good. He's not evil (for now). He is what he is.

Nah man, Oro is just playing the role of an observer/scientist right now. I really doubt Oro has turned a new leaf as well, I'm pretty sure he's just waiting for a proper moment to cause some chaos. He's also helping Sasuke since Sasuke doesn't interfere with his own dreams but IT did.
