I've never watched a single episode in my life, but I heard a lot of great things about it. What is the story about? Are there any decent ( badass ) female characters? Are there emotional moments like in Naruto? What about epic battles and great villains? etc.

But I never could get pass the art style, yeah maybe I am a bit superficial but I just can't watch it :shy:
It's one of the best, you need to watch it now!! Crede-mă merită.

There's decent females and I would say better emotional moments than Naruto. Not so much "epic battles", usually OP fans will say the battles are epic but they usually only read/watch One Piece or haven't checked out other shonens. Villains are good too.

I would recommend reading it than watching. Unless you watch episodes in bulks or up for a marathon, the manga is the way to go.

Just stick to the manga.

I do follow the anime but then again, I've been up2date since 2010, maybe earlier than that.
It's just too many hours you'll have to put into the anime. 700+ episodes..

Depends on your taste but there is a reason why OP is the most popular & successful manga of all time & one of the most CRITICALLY praised series ever.

Early OP has a slow start and the artwork is very odd if you're not used to it. The anime adaption makes it look even more childish and is the cause of 99% of criticism. Majority of people who says OP sucks or is overrated dropped it at the beginning or read some of it in fragments. Even the creator of the Gundam series said OP isn't entertaining when he only read the first 70 chapters.

OP is worth READING. It'll be a struggle watching because it slighty suffers from Naruto anime syndrome, which is pointless fillers, useless fight/scene extensions, twisting things from the manga that splits the community(Admiral-yonko power difference for example) etc..

Emotional moments? Nah.

If you're into action it's wonderful
If you're into a Manga that's wrote so good you actually feel like you're in it then this is the one for you.

Oda attempts to stay as far away from relationships and cry Baby child stuff as much as possible

explain to me the admiral yonkou power difference
Because of the anime, a lot of people think that even WB on his last legs(that was finished off from bullets) is more powerful than a fresh admiral. Its perfectly to think that the yonko are more powerful but can beat admirals med diff tops? The anime had Akainu sh!tting himself when WB appeared behind him, desperately running for his life, maniacally shooting magma fists indiscriminately & gagging on his own blood after a 2nd gura punch. In the manga, Akainu didn't notice WB appear behind him, tanked the 1st gura punch & immediately ripped off half of WB's face & fell into a crater after receiving the 2nd gura punch.
