Im running out of anime to watch and im considering rewatching one piece.

Now I left off on one piece in some arc(around 100) where the crew was on some island on their way to the grand line(or on the grand line) and they were fighting dinosaurs and giant vikings. But up to that point it wasnt all to good. The fighting was ok. The art style looks terrible to me. I dont find it all to funny.

After i stopped watching i decided to give it a try again at my friends house because it was on comcast(on demand). It was another arc(i was told it was filler) when the straw hat crew was in the game/tournament with this other crew. they raced, swam, i think played dodge ball. Then luffy fought the captain on his ship who could i believe slow down time and he had alot of traps in his ship. That fight was terrible! The animation was weird and it looked old. I was almost forcing myself to watch it. Is that what i have to look forward to?

I know luffy's brother dies and i hear it gets good around that time but is the show really worth watching? I'm willing to skip filler arcs but if i start watching the show again i will start around where i left off (around episode 100). Is it worth it? Do you think i will eventually start to like the show?

Yes it is.

It gets way better, the arc where Ace dies is amazing ( Marineford Arc)

It's awesome show , you will definitely like it, The story is very good. Avoid fillers. usopp joining in crew is boring. The powers are amazing.

It's superb. ?

If you didnt like it by episode 100, then it's probably not an anime for you. Try the manga.

its awesome but fillers are good like logue town arc but some fillers are waste of time as for cannon op is awesome just season 2,3,7 is not that good but average and sky island arc is not bad but too long and only some last episodes are epic and season 1,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16 all are awesome and foxy arc is the most worse arc ever i was also force myself to watch and waiting to over the episodes and season 8 is also good, I SUGGEST U WATCH IT FULL WITHOUT FILLER AND THEN AFTER FINISHED THEN WATCH FILLERS LIKE I DID

Yes, the series is worth watching/reading.

Dinosaurs? Then I am assuming you were watching the Little Garden arc, but the episode number should be in 70s IMO. Because episodes starting from 92 to 130 cover the Alabasta arc.

Anyway, I would suggest reading the manga, if you don't have a problem with that. But if you want to watch the anime, then it is worth watching. Though, there are some fillers here and there within some of the canon arcs but you can get through them.

As for the story, it definitely gets a lot better, especially after they arrive in Water 7. And things take a serious turn starting from Sabaody (the events that you mentioned in the first post).

If you want to know exactly which episode is filler and which is cannon, then I suggest visiting this reddit thread:

Saga(s) division (a saga may contain multiple arcs | including canon stuff only):
1. East Blue - Arcs: Romance Dawn, Orange Town, Syrup Village, Baratie, Arlong Park, Loguetown
2. Alabasta - Arcs: Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, Drum Island, Alabasta
3. Sky Island - Arcs: Jaya, Skypiea
4. Water 7 - Arcs: Long Ring Long Land, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Post-ELobby
5. Thriller Bark - Arc: Thriller Bark
6. Paramount War - Arcs: Sabaody Archipelago, Amazon Lily, Impel Down, Marineford, Post-War

Post time-skip:
7. Fishman Island - Arcs: Return to Sabaody, Fishman Island
8. Pirate Alliance - Arcs: Punk Hazard, Dressrosa (currently on-going)

You have to live under a rock if you didn't know Ace died. I don't even One Piece and I know that.
OT: I was wondering the same thing earlier OP, people speak so highly of it but it got boring to me even before where you stopped.

Stay away from it, you already spoiled yourself big time, its like knowing who is Tobi and who is behind Madara

Criticizing the dude who don't know what happen to Ace is stupid why ? he just started reading/watching the series from scratch of course he doesn't know,
unlike you who spoiled yourself which is also the reason why you dislike the series,

I MYSelf never found any amazing action packed scenes during around episode 100 or so, but trust me, the action and fighting scenario Improves once you hit ennies lobby, the fight with lucci was simply epic. Additionally, the action becomes really great from then, I would certainly recommend watching it, and yes, the animations also improve vastly during later on in the series. For some ppl, it can take time and dedication to grow (don't know if it's the correct term to use) on Op, I know, since I'm one of them. But now, I'm a big fan.

The arc you seemed to hate was filler anyway. Don not judge a series off of its filler XD

But ye, give it a go. Any questions on it feel free to drop me a message >_O

lol WUT. Dude the guy called the OP an idiot for spoiling Ace's death, then I pointed out it's been spoiled already on any anime related site lol. And I'm not writing it off, obviously if I didn't consider re-watching I wouldn't of opened this thread XD. From my experience so far, I don't really like it. That's not saying it's a shitty series or anything, maybe I just haven't reached the good parts yet
