Is it still good after whatever number of chapters it's had? I am thinking about starting reading it but if it went down later then I don't think it's worth bothering because it's pretty long way to catch up. So if anyone who watches it could tell me how is the plot, characters and what kind of philosophy(if any) does it have? Like Naruto had Pain, Madara, Sasuke, Naruto and Itachi etc- all with their own ideals. Also is there dumbing down in the manga for the sake of majority or are there hints hidden that you only understand on really observing and thinking- so it's actually worth reading carefully and thinking about. All answers are appreciated.

OP is very good, although it seems a bit boring in the beginning. It took me 3 attempts to finally get into it, and I certainly don't regret it!

I'd skip the first 40 chapters or so. That's when it gets interesting. I think those first chapters are really what scare people away. Well read the first chapter when you meet shanks crew. That part is bad ass

This is the only ANIME which is worth watching after reading it also. Well main character has shanks like naruto has nagato and all. Its really good but very long. Watch episodes I suggest, far more better than manga for me.

First chapter has the whole plot of the ANIME whrere it was shown the rogers last words and shanks part becomes pretty much disappointing when you reaches in later chapters.

One Piece is tied with the greatest manga of all time (hunter x hunter). If you watched Naruto all the way through you'll see how black Zetsu controlled the whole plot, well One Piece is 100x greater than that. In the beginning Luffy and the plot seems boring af, but that's why you stick with it to see what the fuss is about and then you realize oh shit this story deeper that just some pirate treasure. It's a long story but once you digest the boring parts and pay attention to the story you'll try to rush to be up to date lol you'll love it

One piece is all about adventure. It has huge plot and character story completely mystery uptil now...its been 15 years and still oda didnt turn to main story.
For power it uses devil fruits by eating it a person became capable of controlling everything regading the type of fruit consumed.for example if a person consume gravity gravity devil fruit then he become gravity man.main villain is the world government and heroes are some pirates.u will enjoy it once the crew enters the grand line.

after naruto i just started surfing onepiece funny moments on youtube. then i liked them so much that i started reading the mangA and updated my self to the current chapter within 3 weeks with the anime too. believe me bro it is ****ing awesome and it will take time to get familiar with the char drawings but after that you cant stop reading it.

I've read over 200 different mangas, but One Piece is the best ever to me. Naruto became worse and worse as the war progressed. Bleach was horrible after the Arrancar arc. DBZ's fights were just too long and too predictable. One Piece has been awesome so far. It's a little dull during the East Blue part, but I suppose that is a necessity since Luffy was just starting out and gathering a crew. Ever since the Strawhats reached the Grand Line, it has been awesome.
