People are always insulting Obito's motive for turning evil, but I don't think he deserves it.

Let's think for a second, first he was crushed by a boulder after finally making a bond with Kakashi, and saving Rin.
Ok, so then he "wakes" up with Madara there who saved him. (Shocking as he should be dead.)
For a long time then Madara and the Zetzu's pretty much preached to him constantly about how bad the world is and the master plan of making a perfect reality where everyone would be happy, brainwashing him.
Then finally after spending time building up his strength and hearing about Kakashi and Rin in trouble, he escapes to help them (with the convenient NICE help of Zetsu) and then when arriving finds Kakashi has killed Rin with a chidori through the heart. The two people he wanted to get out and be with, and the one person he trusted to protect Rin.
Along with all the "death" of himself, the shock of Madara, the brainwashing for that time, and then seeing Kakashi killing Rin (whom he loved) for no apparent reason (aside from maybe he did it so they wouldn't get her for info, which would be bad still as Obito believes comrades before mission, and thought Kakashi did too, especially for Rin.) I think his reason for turning "evil" so to speak isn't so bad after all. :D

Just think about it. ^_^

Conclusion / Short Version
Due to everything that happened, which includes his own death, brainwashing and seeing his trusted best friend kill the one person he promised him to protect (whom he loved), is his motive so bad after all? :p

P.S. If I'm wrong on any information it's pure mistake, but I'm positive I'm not.

Obito was brainwashed, so he can still be justified into being a good guy, when time comes.

I agree, and its clear that hate is a tool used often in naruto to twist peoples minds! Also, if you look at the new road to ninja movie you can see how obito wanting to live in a world with Rin in it is plausible. Don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it though :)

Nope.

What madara and obito doing now is fully understandable

I mean they lost everything in their lives.
and they both want to create true peace now.

Obito's motive is not that bad. But he has been brainwashed by Madara. Instead of this, he should have followed his heart, not a corrupt uchiha.

While the goal sounds great, it's only great for them. You know what's great about dreams? You get to wake up. You have a nightmare you get to wake up.

But would you destroy the world over it? Would you ruin the lives of everyone else in the world because of it?

Obito and Madara aren't the only ones in the series with mysterious yet interesting ideals. Danzo, Nagato and Itachi also had similar intentions of creating peace and happiness amongst themselves and the place they loved so much. It's just that they all have gloomy ways of going about their plans which seem wrong or "evil" to some. U_U

He's brainwashing others and doesn't realise the fact that he himself is brainwashed..
