Cuz at first he was kinda weak and nothing to brag about.

But then after he got soloed by a rock he became OP.

By 14 he killed hidden mist elite jounin, wiped out kushinas high tier body guards, summoned and controlled Kurama, fought a hokage

And by 20 he had helped massacre the uchiha and controlled the entire mist by controlling yagura.

Was obito talented or was he just a really ambitious guy??

ambitious for sure but that kinda just leads to talent if that person really had the potential.

Absolutely, he was born with arguably the most powerful Sharingan ability in the series. The reason he was weak in the beginning was because he had never faced hardship, and therefore lacked the motivation to put in the work. Once he did, he skyrocketed to being a Hokage-level in something like two years.

He was both, her down fall was that he never grew up and was easily manipulated, he is suppose to parallel Naruto but I see a lot of Sasuke in him.

He was 11 years old as a chunin. He wasn't really weak, his class was filled with talented monsters at the age of 9. It took most of Naruto's class the age of 14-15 just to reach chuunin level.

And being at kakashi's team cell didn't make it any better for him too since at the age of 11 years old kakashi was already on the same jounin level with the yellow flash minato. But many people forget that this 11 genius also got dropped by a rock to his blindspot before Obito got crushed by a rock too. These are kids. 11 years old isn't the perfect time to decide who's a fodder or not, whether you like the character or you don't

Uchiha clan as a whole are gifted, I just think Obito was stacked with powers thanks to the change in genetic make up and jutsus he learned. So these things are to be expected i you're actually capable enough to do so. That clans feats are usually one thing after another and never sub-par with any other gifted shinobis.

Minato's guidance wasn't exactly the best type of training for Obito.
Obito needed someone like Jiraiya to teach him

He was a young kid who's life completely changed AND he was mentored by an Old Madara who probably couldn't teach him much from a ninja aspect (Due to his age limitations) aside from his Sharingan abilities.

Had Obito received proper guidance I think he would have been the strongest in the series if you combine all of the abilities he received.

Fundamentally he lacked a lot in terms of fighting but his overpowered abilities made up for it.

He had potential but he was too much of a wimp so I guess the rock changed him.

He wasn't talented he was gifted. Him getting kamui is the only reason why he's even mentioned at the top, because kamui even when compared to other MS techniques, is broken.

Madara gave him lots of fun toys but it's Obito's drive and determination that moulded him into a strong ninja. Obito is crazy resourceful and that's how he got most of his knowledge and moveset.

He should've used that gunbai fan a lot more though, especially when fighting minato

Oh I meant more giving him Guruguru as a starting platform but yeah, I bet Obito learned the gunbai by himself. Every time we see him in a different mask he has a different fighting style he taught himself.

It does seem like it. With the war mask he decides to use the fan, curse mark tools, and chakra blades. Then when his mask is off he only decides to use fuma shurikens. It's weird that he does that, but I don't remember what tools he used for his Orange mask and black orange mask.

But with Guruguru he only helped him with super strength he sapped from the gedo mazou because his physical body was weak. I think he needed less physical strength and more tools in a higher level battle.

Chains. Back in the day I genuinely thought Tobi would be revealed to be multiple people, just because we saw him in so many costumes and fighting in different styles. Turns out Obito is just crazy varied and talented.

obito's descent into darkness awakened his hidden potential. A lot of people are like that. Clumsy and dumb when doing "right" but when pulled a darker side with a more dark and serious goal, they turn into someone else.

I forgot the purpose of those chains again. Where they anything special or just some ordinary chains?

Ordinary, but good for ensnaring enemies. He used them as his fighting style, not just a fashion accessory. His Ninja Storm moveset with this is the s h i t
