Is Obito romantic for defying reality in order to be with Rin again?

Or is he pathetic for wanting a girl that liked Kakashi and not him?

Ehhh. It's hard to say. I think it's a stupid reason to want to basically destroy the world. It would be romantic if he just put himself in genjutsu and lived there in bliss ignorance forever, rather than taking everyone with him. Sasuke's motive is much more justified.

If obito just wanted to be with rin he would have simply hooked up himself with the gedo mazo and lived out his fantasies but he is doing a planet wide genjutsu, its not just to get back rin but to save the whole of humanity, at least that's what he thinks is the way to save humanity

We havent really seen the entirety (or at least so I hope) of Obitos motives yet. I know Kishi cant really write villains very well but a villain whose sole motive is seeing the girl who friend-zoned him die is a pretty terrible villain, even for Kishi.

Tsukoyomi requires tremedous chakra to perform and has a limited duration meaning Obito can't permanently be with Rin once he rans out of Chakra, while The Infinite Tsukoyomi is well... Infinite, unending.

Well if his goal would be to revive rin then it could be pathetic.
It still isnt romantic as rin was nothing but catalyst for his new world order conviction.

Simply pathetic...

I felt nothing about his tirades and all these flashbacks about Rin-fodder and Kakashi, etc etc...

But since I had to live through it, I now will rather enjoy seeing Rin revived and slowly killed in front of his eyes again...
