Is NB a fan service or earns as well?

Well I was just wondering that there are no ads in NB..


So wanted to knw whether NB is totally a fan service discussion board (working for free i.e. social service)


or it has any means to earn as well (i.e. a business model)???



Coz VBulletin (the forum service which NB uses) aint free...



and there r server costs as well and other petty expenses

I've read somewhere that he created this site out of his fascination and love for japanese culture. Kuddos for him.
More than the money , the time and effort he put to built NB should be the first thing need to be acknowledge.

Narutobase was paid for by versuvio. The base is now self sufficient from the limited ads, as well as premium membership.
Last I checked, it was free to use, though any business one might make is his/her own...

Side note: nb's net worth was $200,000 last I checked
