Is Narutos mom alive?

since we dont have a clue what his mom(i think not 100% sure dont get mad) did when the Nine tail was sealed inside him.
is she still in the village? or another village? dead or alive? will we ever hear about her?

She is always referred to in the past tense. So we can only assume that she too is dead. We can only hope she isn't though.
