He wanted to be Hokage, purely out of wanting to be accepted by everyone. He has that now, so he doesn't need that. However, if/when he does, I'm certain it will be after a time skip. Even then, I imagine him more as Jaraiya, wondering about the earth. He can't sit still in one place for too long.

He is worthy by far. And I don't understand why people say he isn't wise. He has show time and time again that he can be wise. He is what as know as unorthodox. That doesn't make him unwise. He just does things his own way.
