I'm biased as hell cuz I grew up on it but I will say this, it may not be the best anime in terms of writing, character development, etc; but no other anime other than maybe attack on Titan, death note, or steins gate has made me as emotionally attached to an anime than naruto

Ping Pong and Monster are the 2 best anime I have seen by an enormous margin. I consider both to be executed to near-perfection, containing very few (if any) objective flaws, and cannot recommend either of them highly enough.

Boo, Monster tried to make Johann and the secrets so much worse than they were. Overrated, still good though.
