Well, he didn't have time for the exam. He wasn't in the village when the exams were held again and afterwards he got busy with Akatsuki, chasing Sasuke and now the war.

I think he's going to go from Genin to Hokage. It's not like rank matters when they choose a kage

lol i'm gona disagree and say rank does matter when choosing your strongest shinobi otherwise whats the point in ranking?

He wont becomes hokage IMO not yet atleast because he doesnt act like one hokage is about deploying missions and ect and after war i doubt we will need hokages

I dont think naruto should just become hokage like rank doesnt matter, i think he will be treated the same way as The A,B duo in other words he will be the villages weapon. Naruto is not the type to sit around and delegate missions instead of actually going on missions, shikaku and shikamaru can do that stuff until naruto matures some more

A Kage is chosen because he or she would be able to defend and represent the village the best. The village needs someone who thinks of the village before him or herself.
In this case rank doesn't matter. You can be the best Jounin or ANBU there is, but if they don't find you qualified enough, they won't recommend you for the position of Kage.

Plus, rank is just a title to declare that someone is 'stronger' than the rest. In this case Naruto has long surpassed being a Genin. The only reason he still has that rank is because he hasn't had the time to pass the exam.
But in terms of power and will to defend the village at all costs, he is definitely suited as Kage material

lol I agree the kage should put the village first but to think that is all that matters is a bit near sighted. Also I don't think that rank is just about being the strongest, becoming chuunin means your leading a team and beginning to develope leadership qualities, and this continues right up until captain. the ranking system is about preparing you for ALL the tasks needed to be hokage, anbu or captain. It's not just becoming strong. naruto hasn't developed leadership qualities, give him a team to lead before your going to let him lead the village
