Is Nagato easier to fight with all his powers or split between paths.

I say this because it seems like the paths would be stronger if he didn't have fodder level zombie bodies to use.

These are the strongest paths in the series.

Nah, Edo Nagato was levels beyond the paths. Though fighting the Rikudou no Jutsu simultaneously would be tricky, he could multi-path when alone...

Yes and no...

If you have a one shotter Justu that takes out anybody regardless how strong you are.

^^Yes, it's easy

If you don't have such thing, you better find a way to bypass all the path combination in one to get to the real body.

Should be around thirty six combinations from the sole body (real one)

Split Paths, Nagato himself nearly managed to kill Naruto and Killer Bee while they were both in their respective tailed beast states, and it took an Edo-tensei (read, indestructible) Itachi to defeat him.

There are three things different between nagato & his paths.

1] Manga stated that nagato's power was beyond that of his paths

2] Nagato can use all abilities within one body, the paths are restricted to one ability per body

3] Nagato can't revive himself via nakara path, all the paths can except for nakara path itself

With that being said, it then becomes obvious that his original body would be the more difficult one to fight seeing as nagato has two pros & one con.

I doubt the one shot justu would even work as one could absorb it while the others wreck you.

I think that's only because Nagato during the pain arc was very weak compared to Edo Nagato, which was without a doubt, close to his prime power.

Split Paths, Nagato himself nearly managed to kill Naruto and Killer Bee while they were both in their respective tailed beast states, and it took an Edo-tensei (read, indestructible) Itachi to defeat him.

But if he had adequate paths like Obito did they'd neg diff Naruto, Bee, and Edo Itachi.

That toggled, shared vision and sheer numbers shouldn't be underestimated.

What if Nagato had the jinchuriki's as his Paths. Would he be stronger than if he had the power to himself?

Interesting question, well assuming those paths can do everything that obito's paths can do + nagato's path abilities then yes they'd definitely be stronger than nagato by himself.

They were trickier IMO because you can revive them during a a battle and you can simultaneously dodge because of the shared eyes No Shinobi can beat them without knowing there powers

That's why i'm figuring the paths Nagato originally used were weak because of the following:

1. Non-Edo
2. Weak hosts
3. He didn't know their arsenal.

Because all of the abilities his paths shown were all related to the paths. Makes me wonder if all of them other than yahiko were just civilian rebels.

Something like FtG slash, totsukya hype, and ridicously powerful instant kill genjustu come into place that renders preta futile.

^^Just examples, there's still more

It seems much easier to get the edge on him when all of his powers are compacted into one.

Well I doubt the people he used for the paths had any abilities that were worth using, either that or he was simply restricted to only using path abilities for some reason because even a normal nagato didn't use any of the nature releases he was said to have.

I believe the paths were weak because nagato himself at the time was weak & he was transmitting his chakra to six different dead bodies in order to make them move, that itself could explain why they were weaker in general.

& Yeah being edos definitely took some of the strain off of using the paths, so it would've most likely made a difference in their power.

the six zombies is better than one body w/ all the power, yes.

but It doesn't make it any easier to fight him because he/rinnegan already transcends shinobi

and the fact that his chakra is more powerful in his healthy prime(obviously! >_>) is beside the point

see obito was using jin powers not the actual rinnegan powers, the bodies are not supposed to bring their own power else it would not be nagato fighting, the question should be,is better to use the rinnegan techniques in one body or six

Nagato alone is far more powerful than his paths but one has to consider the difficulty of facing split paths - you would probably feel more overwhelmed when fighting a group despite the fact they are weaker, and split vision is a great advantage. It depends on the abilities of the opponent. Overall, I say that Nagato is harder to face due to the versatility of using all paths and being much more powerful overall.

The only real advantages with using the paths are:
- Shared Vision. But that can be accompanied by the use of Animal Path Summons, since they were used to help Nagato's vision against KCM Nardo and company.
- Not putting your body at risk against the enemy. Then again, the Rinnegan makes up a lot for that risk.
- Revival of a path.

So yeah, having all of the Paths in one body is much better. He also doesn't have to plan out as much as when he used the Paths. There is also the fact the Paths have to stay in one formation, which is:

- Having Preta and Asura Path in front and Deva and Naraka Path in the back if I recall right.

It depends on the paths. If they were already acomplished shinobi or jins(instead if random fodder) I'd say the paths are better.

Then there's the joint sight
Path revival
Sheer numbers(and thus battle formations)
Not knowing the secret

On the other hand nagato himself has
superior strength and abilities than that of the paths(when it comes to using rinnegan abilities)

So IMHO unless it's a complete stomp you're gonna be more hard pressed fighting the paths than fighting the single body. But the paths themselves are fundamentally weaker than nagato.

That formation was only due to deva recharging.
