Is Madara the best villain in the series?

Madara was nothing but fan service. Part 1, early part 2 Orochimaru will always be my favorite villain in Naruto. Sasuke had the potential to become one of the best villains, but with the power of friendship shounen crap, it all fell apart.

Revived non-edo Madara is by and large my least favourite villain in the series.

Forced, almost irrelevant in his relationship to other key characters, terrrrrible origin flashback, motivation ripped from another character, his iconic awesome design ruined and then the point where he lost all his charisma.

He's a peace-loving martyr but then also a murder-loving war enthusiast, sexist and elitist also...???????? He's basically just used as a catalyst transition villain for Ootsutsuki lore.

Worst of all...he used to be one of my favourites before he was edo revived. It sucked when Kishi revealed Madara really doesn't have a lot to him when he has to carry the story on his own. I just don't find a bland contradiction of a character running around 'soloing' everyone interesting.

Not imo I think Pain and Orochimaru had way more substance to them and were a lot more relatable and realistic. Madara was just too 'animated'.

All of the villains could have been could if done well, but I think Sasuke, Madara, Obito, and Kaguya were not written properly, especially the latter two, since the first two actually had very apparent potential that fell flat, though that's not to say Obito and Kaguya didn't have potential to be good villains. Overall, only Orochimaru, "Tobi", and Nagato were good villains.

Pain followed by Orochimaru. When those two entered the field you really didn't know who was gonna die. As badass as Madara was, I didn't feel that sense of dread for the good guys as I did with Pain and Oro.

A lot of my biased has to do with the fact that Obito stole his thunder with being the Juubi Jin 1st. After that long drawn out battle we then had to endure it again when Maddy became Juubi Jin. It became lackluster to see yet another fight with another Juubi Jin so soon after the first one.
