[Question] Is Luffy going to actually get along well with his dad?

just a random thought. Both Ace and Sabo somewhat resented their parents. Will luffy also not get along well with Dragon?

However, Dragon seems to genuinely care for Luffy (always facing east). He also saved him from Smoker back then.

Hmm... Hard to say. I guess it depends on how much Dragon tries to influence Luffy's life (which is seemingly none). But with people like Ivankov who saved Luffy and Dragon saving Sabo, I don't see Luffy resenting his father nearly to the extent that Ace and Sabo did. With that said, I think they'll be more of acquaintances rather than have a friend or father/son relationship.

I don't think they will fight, but Luffy obviously doesn't share the same goals. It seems to me that dragon is content with letting luffy be who he wants. At some point their goals may overlap but then they will head their separate ways. I think they will both respect ewach other for who they are and I don't think luffy regrets not having dragon in his life. So I don't think they really have anything to fight over.

Also Dragon already showed that he approves of Luffy's career choice.

I don't think Luffy will resent his father. If he did, we'd probably have heard of it by now - unless their personalities clash badly, I can't see Luffy holding any ill will against him. It just doesn't seem like him.

luffy doesnt hate dragon i think hes already said that he doesnt hate his parents even though he doesnt know them. but luffy is the kinda guy you have to earn his interest/care unless youre brook.

I think Fluffy won't care. If he cared, we would have seen. He doesn't mind Usop's father's choice, even though he left his son for the sea. I don't think he would mind Dragon's choice, whatever his reason be.

But yeah, I agree. I think that Luffy will not hold any haste towards his father. He's never shown any envious signs of other characters and their fathers, and he did have Dadaan and Shanks, so he wasn't totally alone. So I don't think he'll mind Dragon much.

I think luffy dragon and garp all have similar personality traits that allow them to at the very least respect each other if not "get along". As for luffy and dragon they have similar ambitions " freedom" for luffy thats achieved by being pirate king, for dragon its freeing the world from the clutches of the world government and marines. There will no doubt be an arc where their paths cross and they end up fighting together to achieve their goals.
