Is life in Naruto-verse boring?

Besides being a ninja what other exiting thing is there to do in the Naruto-verse?
As far as i know their arent any sports, Tv, and if you leave the village you risk the chance of being attacked by bandits or bad ninjas and even if you managed to leave and go to another village its the same thing.

Dont know if im forgeting something but if i was the people there everyone might as well become a ninja.

In other words, outside of ninja life it's exactly the same as our world was during the decades between industrialization and the invention of affordable television. I assure you that people were not bored all that time. We may not be able to imagine life without TV, but the truth is that it's a relatively recent invention.
