His lil spat with kk was actually impressive if you see what happens, and depending on how strong kk actually is. Konohamaru was able to punch at him and then simultaneously form a rasengan in his other hand the moment kk dodged and turned around to hit him with it all
In one lil exchange. It’s actually the best we’ve seen out of konohamaru so far imo

OT: Yep, but the biggest is Kodachi.

He needs some type of redemption for sure and his showings are sloppy stupid, but every Sarutobi feats he shows on panel is a +1 for better Sarutobi members such as Asuma and Hiruzen.
That's my take on it. Right now Koji is like showing part 1 Jiraiya feats with all his Toad arts so I'm not penalizing anybody yet until Boruto does some Momoshiki victory type bullshit.

Konohamaru is cool, he’s only unimpressive because he’s also been dulled with peace. His last serious incident as a ninja was against Pein. After that the war happened which he was too young for and after that it’s been peace.

He has trained of course but he hasn’t been pushed to his limits that conflict is usually the medium for. He can’t be a badass like Kakashi who was a prodigy anyways and has been through hell all his life.

He's cunning and thinks a bit ahead, but that's average. He's average. He's like Iruka, but if Iruka was skilled enough to be a low tier jonin. This is someone who would have normally be left in the classroom to teach back in older generations.

In a whole, no he's not a joke. He can still hold his own as an average shinobi. However, as a sensei to the 3 strongest students in this generation... he is kind of a joke. His students save him more than he saves them. He hasn't really taught them much, just nudged Sarada and Boruto to work together more (though half the time they just do whatever still). Boruto learned most of his more impressive skills either by himself or from Mitsuki/ other classmates/ Sasuke. Sarada learned most of her impressive skills via her mother and using her sharingan in recent missions. Mitsuki doesn't need to learn anything other than experience thanks to Orochimaru.

Iz he any different from part 1 Wakashi? A supposed genius who needed Saskey's plan to save him from Zabuza...who $hit himself vs oro (to hype oro up as powerful) and was used by kishi as a pawn to build hitachi's hype...

Kono's a victim of plot...he cant outshine boruto coon and he needs to make villains look powerful so he will continue to get solod

Actually he redeemed himself for me after the last chapter. Still jobbed this entire arc but like Kashin Koji said he still has ways to go.
