We have Nagato's backstory providing the hints that Konan is convicted to Yahiko's and Nagato's dream. Then her thoughts while Nagato performs the Rinne Tensei hints that she is also shifting her conviction to Naruto, which is then explicitly stated. She calls Naruto the blossom of hope that won't wilt, which means that Naruto is now her bridge to peace. And all of this is consistent with the backstory Kishi gave Konan.

Those aren't in the present time genius. I'm talking about when she was out there ready to kill her sensei. All it takes is one panel showing some sort of human characteristic when she was confronting Jiraiya. Yet she is having flashbacks of the same man a few days later with the TnJ of Naruto having nothing to do with her.

All it takes is one panel showing some sort of human characteristic when she was confronting Jiraiya. Yet she is having flashbacks of the same man a few days later with the TnJ of Naruto having nothing to do with her.

Why would she exhibit any kind of warmth towards Jiraiya at that moment? She hated where he was from, was already severely emotionally damaged, and her focus was achieving Nagato's peace, which Jiraiya stood in the way of.

Uhhh, the Pein invasion was NOT a few days after Jiraiya's death. The reason she thought of Jiraiya after the invasion was because she was recalling memories that were ABOUT NAGATO AND YAHIKO, and Jiraiya was there. She never sat around thinking to herself "Oh I miss Jiraiya sensei," she remembered events relevant to what was happening to her at the time, and Jiraiya was there for some and he wasn't there for others. In fact, show me these panels of Konan thinking about Jiraiya?

You know even if you are following under someones path you have your own personality deep down. Crap tier writing.

This isn't a flaw in the quality of Konan's writing. She had her own personality, and that changed after Yahiko died. Konan becoming cold and losing the major aspects of her personality was done to serve a purpose.

Flaw in who a character is as a person=/=flaw in who they are as a character.

Never put Konan in the same sentence as Itachi, she was a braindead robot unable to even think for herself. One of the most trash characters in the entire manga, strictly from a written perspective. Itachi is one of the only well written characters in this series.
