knowing is better than not knowing but if your not gonna do anything with the knowledge you have than its better not knowing.

They say ignorance is bliss, but is this really true? I think knowing is better, becasue it evolves you as a human being.

Please give me your views on the topic.:)

Rather than knowing, understanding suffices more than enough to be kind towards another, knowledge in and of itself doesn't evovle anything at all.
You may know that it's mean to hurt someone, but not practice any such "noble" principles at all, there's lots of examples. Understanding it, however, you'd see and refrain from such folly(mean stuff).

Moreover, knowing can never be complete now, can it? There are so many things in the that world we will never know of.

Sure there are things we will never understand, but should we always question that which we don't understand?

We can't say that until we see for ourselves about whether we'll understand it or not, most people escape from understanding anyway, not even giving it a chance don't they? The reasons could be that their not understanding gives them pleasure, that understanding is too painful etc.
About knowing though, we just have to examine don't we?

I'd draw a line between knowledge and understanding.
And yes, questioning brings issues to attentiont, awareness of them, something necessary for understanding to begin with.

Well, I guess you're right.

It depends on the circumstances. Would you want to know when you were going to die? Would you like to know with absolute certainty that god didn't exist? I don't believe it does but I'm glad I can't prove it. Ignorance is comforting.

Well, I guess you're right.

Actually.. I would like to elaborate on something(´・Д・)」..
I'm not meaning to say that knowledge is useless, on the contrary, it fosters understanding in its own way, an important way, yet having it doesn't necessesarily mean you will understand, could just mean that you merely have it. I mean, I knew of the proverb "missing the forrest for the tree," but didn't have a clue about what it meant at the time.

Is knowing the newest gossip from the playground by my little sister worth knowing? No.
But yes I do agree, knowing many things, at least in general is better than not knowing. Everytime I get tempted to watch T.V, I'll pick up a book instead, or read articles on important things to be more tolerant of other unknown cultures and religions that I may bump into one day. Also it's good knowing things to keep conversations going with strangers.

Knowledge is not everything. However, it doesn't mean it's not important. You just don't want to end up like Darwin.

Yup...I agree Knowledge is Better...But there can be many situations where this saying could be applied....:scorps:
It is said so because If you know something,You get more curious to find out more and u become Stressed...While if you just ignore it,then you're tension-free!!:hint:
In another context,it could denote that ignorance of subjects or statements that provoke u for flaming is BLISS!!

In case you’re a woman you’re definitely better off if you know nothing and are just plain stupid. xd

If by ignorance you mean that you would prefer to not know something that will make you feel bad then that is the way a coward thinks.

So the healthy procedure is to want to know and if you don't like what you learned, to be able to deal with it.

They also say that what you don't know, cannot hurt
So in certain situations it's better to be a noob...
But otherwise, even if the truth hurts sometimes, overall I choose knowing...We have to face our problems and solve them...
