I would like to start by saying that I'm a huge Kishimoto fan. I am however a very perceptive and unbiased casual fan.
Since the start of the series Kishimoto has steadily built up Naruto's sidekick Sasuke.
Sasuke has since then developed a cult like following among some of the fanboys. Kishimoto seemed to be appeasing the Sasuke fanboys by giving Sasuke some power ups to make him seem more than just a side character. I even saw some of the Sasuke fanboys with the delusions that Sasuke would somehow share the title of Hokage with Naruto.
Kishimoto was able to employ a very well executed trolling of the Sasuke fanbase by giving Kakashi a better powerup.
I find it utterly hilarious that Kishimoto would give Sasuke all of those powerups only to show that they really were meaningless. Sasuke's side character status was indeed confirmed by Kishimoto during the previous chapter.
I applaud Kishimoto for outlining where each character truly stands and by showing that Naruto is the god of the manga.
I am however curious to see if Sasuke would now survive an encounter with the new Kakashi. My research indicates that Kakashi would easily fodderize Sasuke if they should ever get into an argument over whom Naruto's sidekick is.
