Is Kiba underrated or just weak?

Basically what the thread title says. I really can't tell at this point, the only real move I ever see him use is that twisty typhoon thing with Akamaru and the other thing where he sprays piss everywhere.

his underated becoz all we see is that same old move... but kiba is a sensory type... and every squad needs one..

It definitely looks scary but we havent seen him do anything like this in a long time. Plus one of his moves is to piss on people.. seriously..

It's Akamaru that pisses on people lol. And if they're marked by Akamaru he can smell them from probably 10+ miles away. His noses range is around 7-8 miles, which is actually pretty op lol he can know where everybody is at all times. And Lee hasn't used gates in part 2 and Neji hasn't used 64-palm, and they are both really good.

I think Kiba has some exceptional abilities. Training and living with a ninja dog his entire life, and having extra ordinary smelling senses. This said - in direct combat he isn't that strong. Surely he is stronger now, and will become stronger, but his true force lies in tracking / hunting enemies. At this he is indeed a top ninja, and even those that can hide their chakra presence can't hide their smell U_U

What he said. Kiba's true talent is his ability as a tracker ninja, he was able to pick up Sasuke's scent from miles away. He's also more of a taijutsu fighter and we all know that if you aren't Tsunade, Guy, or Raikage, taijutsu is useless.

I suppose you are correct. But like others have stated above me, I think his true value comes from his tracking abilities and not his combat skills.

To put it simpky he is underrated. Compared the the average shinobi he is above them if only slightly, but when compared to people like Naruto, Obito, Sasuke, etc... He pales in comparison, and that is merely because he recieves no screen time just like the rest of the Konoha 11. I'm hoping something in the war at least vibrant them all some credibility, but I doubt it since only Madara is left. At best they work together to take away his war fan.

1) he's sense of smell is unrivaled. he smells better then Kakashi's ninja dogs.

2) he has the second most destruction force right after chouji from the konoha 11.

3) Decent speed as well

only bad thing I can say battlewise is that he often rushes things (like Naruto often did back in time) as seen when he tried to attack Tobi which failed big time.

I think he's pretty strong needs more screentime to show it!

Kiba could be pretty sneaky if he loses his hotheadedness, and Shikamaru seems to agree since he thought that having a tracker like Kiba or Neji on his team against Tayuya would make things far easier for him. He's just not meant to be on par with ninja like Neji or Lee though (or other true power houses).

Well I don't mean a power house as mountain busting or anything, just that he held more of a title then most of the Konoha rookies.

If people these days consider Jounin level as fodder then yes he's going to be seen as weak indeed.
