Is Jiraiya still alive? Do you think?

I know this sounds a bit illogical, but do you think Jiraiya is still alive?
Jiraiya was never summoned from the Edo Tensei. And he had an incomplete
storyline fighting against pain. There was a missing segment during the fight and
after falling into the depths of the water. What do you guys think?

Too bad, would have been interesting if Jiraiya had somehow survived. like in Dragon Ball Z, when Namek exploded and Goku was training on the other planet to get stronger.

Personally I think Jiraiya is the best character in Naruto
