Is itachi really overrated?

It's funny how people say itachi is overrated yet everytime he is shown he either go easy on his opponent or win effortlessly. Let's be honest the guy was given a mission to destroy the strongest clan in the naruto universe. They would give that mission to anyone. He's deifintely one of the top 5 ninja they have shown and he has the ability to defeat anyone. But let's talk about ninja that are really overrated like hashirama for example. People always claim that hashirama is the strongest ninja the leaf village ever had even tho the manga already disproved this statement not once not twice but 3 times. Another ninja that is overrated is jirayai. It's already been stated that oro was the strongest of the sannin. It's already been stated that jirayai was almost beat to death by tsunada but people still think he's the best sannin. Other overrated ninja are the sage of 6 paths son. No where in the manga does it say how strong or weak they are yet people just assume that they are good but in reality they could be as useless as mizuke was. I know people are gonna say and think whatever they want regardless but no one can disprove anything I have said......

I won't say that Itachi is overrated or underrated because I'm tired of hearing that everywhere, but I will give you that he had the qualities of a very very high level shinobi. He was an expert at analyzing his opponents and the battle situation. He could exploit the smallest of mistakes and openings and use them to formulate a perfect counter-strategy in mere moments. Not only that but he had the skills needed to carry them out.
