Because of the way Kishimoto designed Itachi and his Abilities, whenever I quote his words from the DataBook or Manga people call it Wanking as if I'm making something up lmao.

Since no one has ever penetrated Yata, Defied Totsuka Blade(Besides Oro since he used his Rebirth to escape the sealed body), and no one has legitimately defeated him I just assume that what Kishi wrote about Itachi being essentially invincible is true. And haven't found evidence to the contrary but that is just my opinion.

It's not quite possible to tell what is the extent of Itachi's capabilities.

You're right that a true test of his strength in manga hasn't been shown. And we all know he is ridiculously strong.

Every character that has come across him, fears his abilities / is wary of him, be it Orochimaru, Obito, Kisame, Kakashi, Nagato, and the list goes on.

so i don't really think his character is overhyped. :itachi2:

It terms of skills and abilities - he has the potential for being "invincible" I suppose.

But Itachi has his own disadvantages and weaknesses. So, physical limitations - because his body is weak, or at least in comparison to what he is capable of.

He doesn't have an infinite supply of chakra, in fact I always supposed he had an average amount - or less than average. Countered with good chakra control, low-cost techniques etc.

... but that might just be my head canon. I lose track sometimes.

Itachi is overrated to the max. Its the truth.

But if you want to console yourself by seeking validation from fellow itachi wankers then be my guest.

Yata no Kagami (八咫鏡?) is a sacred mirror that is part of the Imperial Regalia of Japan. It is said to be housed in Ise Grand Shrine in Mie Prefecture, Japan, although a lack of public access makes this difficult to verify. The Yata no Kagami represents "wisdom" or "honesty," depending on the source. Its name literally means "The Eight Hand Mirror," a reference to its octagonal shape. Mirrors in ancient Japan represented truth because they merely reflected what was shown, and were a source of much mystique and reverence (being uncommon items). Japanese folklore is rich in stories of life before mirrors were commonplace.

In the Japanese mythology this mirror and the Yasakani no magatama were hung from a tree to lure out Amaterasu from a cave. They were given to Amaterasu's grandson, Ninigi-no-Mikoto, when he went to pacify Japan along with the sword Kusanagi. From there, the treasures passed into the hands of the Imperial House of Japan.

In the year 1040 (Chōkyū 1, 9th month), the Sacred Mirror was burned in a fire.[1] Whether that mirror was irrevocably lost or not, the current government claims that there are three sacred relics, each held at a different Shinto shrine: one in Three Palace Sanctuaries of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, one in Ise Grand Shrine, and one in Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya.
LOL Yata Mirror is weak as hell.

No way, Itachi was the avatar of Kishimoto in the series, an Avatar cannot be overhyped.
