is itachi jiraiya's informant

i was just thinking about how jiraiya was getting information on the akatsuki. it's amazing how accurate the informant was. they were even able to tell jiraiya where the leader was residing. the only way the informant had to be so accurate was they had to be a double agent.

they had to be apart of the akatsuki. but who could it be?

my guess is itachi. why? i remembered when tobi was explaining things to sasuke about itachi after sasuke kill him. he said that itachi joining the akatsuki was part of his plan to leak information to the hidden leaf. jiraiya was a hidden leaf ninja that reported to the hokage everytime he had updates from his informant.

another thing is how jiraiya gotten information about the akatsuki leader, pain right after itachi fought sasuke and died. itachi must have given jiraiya the info before meeting up with sasuke at the uchiha hideout.

i know some people probably already put the pieces together but what o you guys/girls think of my conclusion

I think its very possible that itachi was Jiraiyas informant. I dont see any one else that possibly could be it.

Would explain why they didn't fight.
would explain how Itachi got away using Amaterasu and then Jiraiya knew to seal it and not bother trying to extinguish it.
Would explain why Jiraiya was so happy to fight Itachi & Kisame. He knew Itachi would withdraw.

I don't think Jiraiya knew about Itachi's true intentions, but it is possible that Itachi was responsible for information leaks which Jiraiya could get.

itachi only fought jiraiya was because of two reasons

1. because his mission was to get the kyuubi and at the time naruto being the jinchuuriki was under jiraiya at the time and jiraiya wasn't going to let them take him

2. he was with kisame so he had to make the fight believable. so he used amaterasu but jiraiya new about that technique and successfully countered. once it was believable enought they itachi orders a retreat so kisame won't make any moves.

itachi could have easily used his crow summons to send info to jiraiya while he wasn't supervised by kisame.

if konan was the informant then there would have been more information given to him. he could have known about the rinnegan and planned ahead. also konan had no reason to give info to the leaf village.

who you think was giving him info on the akatsuki?

even though itachi became a criminal he was still loyal to the leaf.
if he wasn't then why would itachi tell sasuke about madara if he didn't want those two to meet?

answer: he wanted sasuke to be the hero of the leaf village that killed the demolisher of the uchiha clan and return to the leaf with info on madara being part of the akatsuki. itachi even place amaterasu in sasuke.
