I've been hearing alot of people calling a person weird for liking Japanese music. Normally when I watch Anime that has a good OP/ED, I hum the song in the OP/ED out of a habit. Sometimes that habit grows so much that instead of humming, I start singing a little of the lyrics. ._.

But it's just like how South Asians here who aren't Indian like to sing and dance to Indian music.

Would that be the same with Japanese music too? (Without the dancing part ._.).

Exactly this, The words in Japanese music have more power (even if they are said differently than english) But if you translate them you can find alot of hidden meanings. :yay:

In my country, there is a what you can call prejudice towards people who like anime. One of the reasons is because my country is full of dumbass idiot socialists. Actually, that's not a reason, I just wanted to say that because it's true.
I guess the reason for this prejudice is because they mistake anime fans with hardcore otakus who dresses like their chars to go out in a regular day and everything, so they think anime fans are not normal.

About the songs, I believe one of the reasons is the above. Applies to your case as well. And another reason is because it's not very popular.

nothing is wrong with that, period.

one can appreciate different types of music from different countries/cultures. there are a lot of language's out there that has more depth than English and that can produce some seriously amazing music/songs.

also you can learn a lot about a country by just listening to their music, and i advice people to do it more often.

no problem man!
you just simply find it interesting and you like it... that's all
there's no one who can tell that you're wrong...

I know many people who claim that reading and watching the manga and anime is not ok!
just Ignore them...

It's just music. An example would be how famous American bands/artists tour in other countries.
its just music. theres nothing wrong with it. you know that isn't weird . ask yourself is it weird to watch their shows and anime. naruto originated from an Asian man. is it weird to find someone of another race attractive? No its not weird. Nothing is weird. People learn other languages.

the music just seems to have more soul... its the only way i can describe it
More soul not neccesarily.

But I will say most of japanese music has more soul and feels than most of our music. There are ALOT of different types of music we have.

Asian Classical>>>>Western Classical(in general)

My sister LOVES Korean music, and I LOVE Japanese music - we both listen to them throughout the whole day.
Music is music, I don't see why it would be weird to like what you like.

That's just like saying it would be weird for white man to eat Chinese food.

I'm in the exact position as you, I love Japanese & Korean music so much. (Even more than the music from my own ethnicity.)

It's not weird.
