He didn't defeat Hashirama, Edo Madara wore him out, got defeated, and then Alive Madara used the rods already placed in Hashirama's back from the previous fight to bind him, and steal his Senjutsu.

You can say Rinnegan/Mokuton Madara defeated Hashirama when he takes on a full power Hashirama, who isn't just using his base techniques, and beats him.

As of now, there is no canonical fight that details a FP Hashirama against a Rinnegan/Mokuton Madara.
