Is it possible to create your own religion?

Like, Scientology is kinda new right? I don't know that much about it and I don't wanna google it cus I think I might get brainwashed if I visit some site where they are mentioned.



But if you created a religion, what message would be in it? Would you say stuff like only rich people get to heaven? That would be kinda interesting.


I think It's hard to define morality, people interpret things differently and with time morality changes.

Maybe I would say that lazyness is a sin. That would be interesting, people would start to be afraid of being lazy if they followed my faith.

religion is basically teaching people how to live their lives.

so yes, gain enough followers and teach them a new way to live their lives, you can consider that to be a new religion.
key thing here is: education and way of life.

Hinatabase is a religion, so you might say involuntarily? Because to our knowledge, Kishimoto wasn't cognizant of what he was doing when he created Hinata's character; and he definitely didn't foresee a cult coming of it.

Ps. Itachibase is also another religion-based fandom, as most Itachi fans will regard themselves more of as believers than mere fans, and along the same line, treads convoluted fanbases such as Tobidara base that has grown profoundly since it achieved popularity on NB.

PPS. Sorry for cutting corners, but what I was attempting to convey was it's highly possible, given there's infinite varieties of them lingering around in the inter-net, some of them brewed from a mere Manga.
