Is it possible that hashirama had rinnegan

Ive been thinking that hashi may of awakened rinnegan before he died. why, because madara only unlocked rinnegan after having hashi cell for a long time and he's still bragging that hashi can still beat him.I don't see how if not

and Im not saying that he had it during the fight at the VOTE, because he would of raped madara. Im saying that madara probably knew/felt he it before he died and is saying that he would lose to rinnegan hashi.

A better question and one you should have asked is if a senju like hashirama stole uchiha DNA, does that mean they would unlock the rinnegan too? I think no as it is a dojutsu, but the power of senju and uchiha is the power of the sage of six paths.

here are my 2 cents for this convo:

1. hashirama never had any kind of eye power (like the sharingan or byakugan) so i doubt he could've just awoken the rinnegan
2. madara wasn't as powerful as he is now during his fight with hashi. think about how much chakra that ultimate susanoo must use up. maybe madara could use it for 5 minutes before he nearly kills himself. immortality + unlimited chakra = no problem. so i think hashirama is overhyped a bit.
3. #2 may or may not have been random but I DONT CARE!

But, what really confuses me, is that if the Senju were indeed descendants of the S06P, wouldn't that mean that the senju carried the dojutsu gene?...i guess it doesn't work like that.

hum as others stated above this thread fails. sure the uchiha can unlock the rinnegan by obtaining senju dna but doesn't mean it can work in visevera for the senju because the the uchiha are the ones who possesses the dojutsu powers of the sage not the senju

interesting idea. although i don't think its uchiha dna thats needed. i think they would need the eyes. remember the older brother inherited the eyes and the younger the body. thats why madara just needed to implant a sample of hashirama's (the ultimate senju) dna. if a senju (possibly naruto? jk that would probably make me stop reading the manga) acquired a couple sharingan then MAYBE they could get a rinnegan

In response to your question one word: insanity!! Hashirama is a descendant of the younger son or the "body" of the Sage. Whereas Uchiha Madara inherited the "eyes" of the Sage. It wouldn't make any sense for Hashirama to posses both the "body" and "eyes" of the Sage!! This is a dichotomy that is seen constantly throughout Naruto. Just like the way Sasuke someday achieving the rinnegan would make infinitely more sense than Naruto awakening it (as both Naruto and Sasuke are clear descendents of the two sons of the Sage of Six Paths).
