Hi guys. Since I'm a bookworm, I'm thinking of buying one of these nice looking ebook readers? Any experience with those? How pleasent is it to read a full length book on one, especially sitting in the sun? Thoughts? Product advice anyone?

Thanks.

I think the best use of your money is a used or refurbished iPad2 or some other tablet, then you'll be able to get ebooks from several sources, you should be able to find one for about the same price as a good e-reader. I have an iPad but I mostly use the Kindle app. I guess it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish, maybe go to an electronics store & play around w/ some to see what you like.

I have the basic Kindle.

Pros:
-You can get a bunch of free books from Amazon
-Its lightweight and fits in the pocket of my cargo pants at work
-Long battery life
-The support system on Amazon respond really quickly
-Tons of accessories

Cons:
-You cant do anything else other than read e-books
-No backlight (this infuriates me)
-there is a glare if you read in the sun
-a lot of the nicer protective covers are really expensive

I would recommend this to a friend, but I also would recommend they save up their money for a little bit longer and get the Kindle Fire.

Thanks for the resplies. I'm still unsure, let's see when summer and the outside reading times come back. :) The screens of some are impressively clear looking.

I have a Kindle Keyboard with the 3G and it works fine except most of the problems with Kindle is that it freezes and hangs. I got mine replaced twice already within the 1 year warranty. For me though, having an android/iPad is way better since basically the same with the Kindle Fire tablet except you can have more games and apps (facetime). You just have to download the Kindle app for it.

I recommend you get an adroid and download an E-reader. You can use the computer to find PDFs and .mobi/.epub or .txt files. You can find a lot through torrents or 4shared. then download it or transfer it to your tablet. ;) I'm an "e-bookworm" myself. I use my android phone. hehehe. :D

With the Kindle Keyboard 3G, the pro is that you can download anywhere (since it's 3G) but you can't read at night unless you purchase some accessory for it. But I got tired with mine because it's kinda bulky for parties. I mean you just can't take it out of your pocket anytime. hihihihi. :D Reading at home works fine but you have to have light. T_T

Anyway, I hope you find what you want. :D

If you want any ebooks, PM me the title and I can help you find it.
