So...title pretty much says it all...
Has anyone noticed how quickly Sasuke began to lose his eyesight? Sasuke Just spammed so much MS abilities that he could have easily lost his sight so quickly...
Here i will compare Itachi and Sasuke and their rate of use + Rate of depreciating eyesight:
Itachi first earned his mangekyou from shisui - which we have now found out was as shisui gave him his eye - it triggered the ability.
From then he used Tsukuyomi on Sasuke - and has been seen to use his MS it on Kisame at least once from that time onwards.
He uses Ameratsu on Jiraiya (the frog stomach) in an attempt to escape - believing that Jiraiya is too powerful to take head on, and he uses Tsukuyomi on Kakashi during their first encounter within the series.
- Other than that, Itachi doesn't seem to use his eyesight that much - maybe 4-5 times within the whole series, in addition he is only 'starting' to lose his sight after the encounter with Kakashi - at which point Kisame warns him not to over-use his MS.
How is it that after years of possessing the MS, his eyesight hasn't deteriorated further than that! - I mean even Zetsu didn't realise Itachi's power of Susano'o until late - he must've not used that technique that much!
- Within the battle between Sasuke and Itachi we see Itachi is almost totally losing his eyesight - so yes, it has worn on him over the years...
BUT
This is where the situation is sort of altered to fit the plot!
Sasuke receives the Mangekyou from Itachi after the headpoke - and immediately activates Ameratsu on Tobi...Soon after that he uses Ameratsu on Bee, and we see his eyesight deteriorate immediately...
He then uses Ameratsu at the Kage Summit along with Susano'o, and then uses Susano'o + other MS abilities again to fight Danzo...
By this point - maybe 5-6 uses total? - Sasuke is about to fight Kakashi and Naruto - his eyesight is almost COMPLETELY GONE?! We can see this as his pupils are turning white - the anime also captures his blindness very well using a POV shot...
So yeah, why so quickly?
Itachi had his MS for YEARS - he must've used it more than the few times that we saw during the series itself... Yet somehow Sasuke uses it 5-6 times in such a short space of time - and is almost completely blind before he gets his EMS...
Edit:
'That's the thing, Sasuke was arrogant and spammed his MS, he also put himself into situations where he needed to fight for survival - he didn't need to go to the kage summit but he did anyway and it resulted in him fighting the Kages, Danzo + Kakashi, Sakura and Naruto and spamming his MS, Itachi was smart with MS, Sasuke was not...'
So to finish it all up - Sasuke made such a huge mistake spamming all of his abilities - but thanks to PlotNoJutsu - his eyesight is saved...
Kishi what are you playing at!?
Is Sasuke's abilities / control of MS that much smaller than Itachi's?
Why did Sasuke spam his abilities so much?!
Ps: sorry if i forget to mention any use of MS but im pretty sure i covered most of it!
