All the positive intangibles "God" is supposed to embody- life, love, forgiveness etc. I believe are very important and thus I try to refrain from attacking or discrediting religion on the basis that they are spreading these ideals. Now, when religion becomes hurtful or discriminatory, it needs to be opposed.
So believing in all those "concepts", I don't believe in God in the traditional sense. I do believe the power of life, love, and forgiveness. However, I do not believe in any type of God people believe in who is "personified". Meaning "He" (why a gender anyway?) forgives, creates, guides, speaks, or anything a human would do. I just think people apply these selected traits to their deity or religious life to understand it and forge a connection with it. I personally do not subscribe to this belief/tactic.
I like to tell people I'm very spiritual, just not religious =D
