I'm confused. I really am. Obito said it himself that the hiatus for this war isn't because of Rin. Or Kakashi. It was because of society itself.

So why is Rin in his thoughts when he has just one last shred of his mind left?

Rin's death was the catalyst but not the full reason. I'm guessing seeing Rin being killed by Kakashi is like the very symbol of the hatred Obito bears to the Shinobi world so he's getting willpower from that.

In one way or the other, Rin is the reason which made him to walk his path towards Project Tsuki no Me. Because of Rin's death he understood how corrupted the Ninja System has become. He wants to change everything and drag everyone into Infinite Tsukuyomi so that he meet his ideal Rin which he wanted. But watching at Rin's torn face (photo) will lead Juubi to take over his body which is not he wanted in his plan. Rin is the source of his strength.
