Is it cheaper to build a gaming PC?

Is it cheaper to build a gaming PC? Than to buy a console? In the long run?

I heard it costs more to build a gaming pc depending on what you can afford, but free online game (Provided you have internet access). Is that true? Is it more beneficial?

I want 4k-8k gaming on a pc. If not, I'll get Xbox One X or PS4 Pro. Which one is better out of those two? Disregarding exclusives. I mainly want to play Dark Souls and battlefield V

Its way more expensive to buy gaming PC but its probably better in long run because you can get games for free which is not case with consoles.

PS4 Pro is better of the two since it has exclusives.

PC gaming > PS4 > Xbox.

Yeah, the PC is cheap on the long run. I run myself a 1.4k build and I can play games with great quality and pretty good FPS.
