I've been reading a few posts on here and other sites that say that they don't think the final battle is over, and there's some sort of twist that'll happen that can at least damage control the very anti-climactic ending we had in 690. The "twist ending" might be meh as well, but at least it would be more than what we got.
I just want to point something out that might sway you or make you think a bit that wasn't there when the chapter was first translated. For whatever reason, MangaPanda sometimes doesn't translate the editor notes at the end of chapters. In case you don't know, an editor's note is a little message at the very end of the chapter that gives you some insight or talks a little bit about that chapter, or hints to what might happen next chapter. It might be something like in the chapter, it ends with Naruto being caught in a deadly situation, and the editor's note might be "Can Naruto make it out alive?" Or it could be something more revealing, something along the lines of "History will be made" in a sports manga, that implies your the protagonist's team will win, as they're down a significant number of points with very little time left, all while being the clear underdog In chapter 690, MangaPanda doesn't have the editor's note, but *********** does.
This is the editor's note from ***********:
"The long strands of fate finally end here..."
Why that's of note is it's right over the So6P's face. Now, it can be taken in a couple ways. It can be taken that it's all over, as it's implied, with no twists and we'll start getting into the closure of the manga. But it can also be taken that perhaps the So6P is the final boss, and it all ends with him. Now perhaps I'm reading a bit too into it, and perhaps it's nothing and it really is the end, but I'm curious as to what you guys think. Do you think it's over? After reading the translation without the editor's note, but now reading the editor's note, has your opinion on whether it's truly over changed? Or are you just not sure and will not bother trying to figure it out and just wait until the next chapter comes out? I'd love to know what you guys think.
