Yes,It is..And you are right, many senior members dont take rookies seriously
I hate that, even when I prove them wrong and the whole thread agrees with me the only arguments they use is "Look at your rep and look at mine, who do you think is right"?

Ughh, so annoying

I don't take people who have long green bar seriously either

Most of them are troll and they + rep themselves with their alt ..

Yes, it's against the rules to ask someone for rep. Also, having lots of rep doesn't necessarily mean a person makes quality posts.

Post in discussions where you feel you can contribute to. Make threads that can appeal to everyone. Or a large group of people. Either way, you have to earn it.

I've never, in my 2 years on NB, heard or seen that happen.

Most people don't care about rep. I've had all mine taken away. Doesn't make me less awesome, more awesome, have more status, etc....Just means I lost points. Whooptydo.

Anyways, you cannot make threads or ask for + rep, like others have stated. It's against the rules. Same goes for asking for - rep also.

Reminding you all for the 1000000th time, when someone has answered the question correctly. There is no need to repeat the answer. This is considered as spam and is infractable.

Yes it is against the rules to make a thread asking for rep- whether it be negative or positive. This is classified as rep-whoring/rep abuse and can be found in the global forum rules here:

Rep Abuse: While it is normal to give reputation to people who help you or have done something you found interesting for the forum, repeatedly asking for people to rep you, to rate your profile, or the participation in games like "rep me and I will rep you" are considered "cheating" and are not allowed. If caught spreading reputation points, Admins can set your points to 0. To question or try get your reputation back will result in that the reputation bar gets inactivated for the user. To write in a post that you gave negative or positive reputation is not allowed either as it is seen as a attempt to get rep back from other members.
If negative reputation will be used by inappropriate reasons / spammed and reported. Administrators will take action.
