It's 2014, so it's not shameful if the women works and the man maintains the house.

I think you might find it shameful due to men being prideful in general.

Being 2014 has nothing to do with this. A man should be able to provide for his family.

I feel it is, the is... well the 'man of the house', there aren't two ways of looking at that, well except if the man is disabled, I saw that among the options, regardless, the man should always try to be the main pillar of the home

No it isn't .......it doesn't matter if the man is suppose to provide to his family , if he can't or the women is the one doing it, it shouldn't matter. I believe in equality and it takes two to tango, both can do it , not just one .

You can provide for your family in other ways besides bringing in an income.

Cooking, cleaning, shopping, taking care of the kids.

I see nothing wrong if a woman is the bread winner.

Being a "man" isn't defined by how much you or little you provide financially

Well it depends on the situation. But in most cases yes it is shameful. The man is supposed to take care of his family. That's why I've decided to finish college and have Everything set up how I want it, before even thinking of having children.

Real relationships don't see it like that. They see what they have in total and pay bills with "our families income". Less problems and less drama from a male acting more like a female on her period which is a turn off from an independent women. It takes a strong man to work together with a women that has been more independent during her life.

Huh ? Nah, man. I'm cool if my wife is the one who's providing, as long as I'm not slacking around. I won't mind anyone knowing that either.

Nope it's not.

Division of labor should be that those who are more better suited to do one job does that job.

If a woman is better at working (maybe she got a more recognized degree) and it's acknowledged that someone is needed at home to take care of the kids, then there is no shame in splitting it that way.

i don't see a problem. this is actually beneficial. if you make good money but she just makes more its fine. now you have a stable family income and families with stable incomes are happier. plus if you get divorced you don't have to pay alimony

Who decided what a man is supposed to do?
No one can decide that.
No it is ok as long as he's doing the cleaning etc.

Personally I think both partners should provide.

I'd be bored out of my mind if I was a stay at home and my husband did all the work.

If in terms of your wife earning more than you then no; only the primitive would possibly think that a woman earning more is shameful. If you mean that they work while the man doesn't, then yes that would be shameful since the man is a lazy f*ck.
