I caught up to the latest episode of One piece, I was wondering if now is the right time to start reading the manga? Right now the latest episode is 702.

Yes for sure, continue with the manga. The OP anime is good when you binge watch it, but you once you catch up, and start to wait every week for an episode, you'll realize how slow the pace is.

Especially with the introduction of Kiado. This next arc is going to be better than marineford

It's definitely a good idea to continue progressing with the story with the manga. Anime is definitely better but you can't do anything and stick with the sluggish rate of anime (an episode a week) while you can read about it with the manga. BTW, manga is much faster paced.
