Any sort of obsession is... well, not normal. Whether it's harmful or not varies, I guess. I mean, sometimes I like fictional characters a lot, and it even helps me through depression and all that, but I don't feel about them the same way I would about real people. Usually I see them as a source of inspiration (in terms of creativity). Also, I've had such feelings for my entire life, and it doesn't impair my social skills in any way.
