Hello everyone, I have seen a thread and it theorised that Hagoromo may in fact be evil. Well I'll try and debunk this theory pretty quickly. So before I start my stance is that he is not an illusion by Kaguya nor does he was the IT to continue.
Hagoromo and the Uchiha Tablet.
Hagoromo stated that be made the Uchiha tablet because he thought that in the future one of Indra's incarnations would attempt to mix with Ashura's chakra to awaken the rinnegan. He must have had information and even goes on to state that he created the tablet for that said incarnation to reconsider his/her actions. The scan below proves this.

Hagoromo and his opinion of IT.
Hagoromo does want to stop IT from taking place as he knows full well that it would mean the end of the world and he does not want that to happen. He wants people to be free, But to use their chakra to connect with one another, is that exactly evil? I think not.

The next page even shows that Hagoromo wants Naruto to stop Madara so that his plan to forcefully bring peace will not happen. This isn't necessarily evil either yes he isn't allowing peace, but it is paving a way for peach to occur but with free will and consent by the people. This is the way it should be. Madara may seem the realist but that doesn't make him innocent nor does it mean that he is good.

Hagoromo giving power to Naruto & Sasuke.
Okay so Hagoromo gives both Naruto and Sasuke power, why does he do this? Well he gives half he power to each of them so that they can work together and form a bound unlike any Indra or Ashura incarnation could do before them. Again this is not evil and it's a start to were peace can occur. Not only this but he gives them this power so that they can defeat Madara from forcefully carrying out his plan and also to beat Kaguya if she comes back. Hagoromo also stated that she had become carried away with her power and become evil. As if you were good, then no one should fear you. Again this means that he is not evil.

Hagoromo and his brother fight the Juubi.
Now we had a flashback of when Hagoromo and his brother fought the sage and sealed it so that he could not harm the people of the world. He states that they both did this to "repent for our mother's sins". They were trying to right the wrongs their mother made, they were trying to do good. The Juubi would have destroyed the world because of what Kaguya had done. Essentially him and his brother saved everyone from being killed.
