Not really, good people enter heaven by doing what he orders them and that's what makes them "good" not the fact that they're "good" by nature or at least, by religion standard and definition.
As for your other question it's truly depending on where and how, for you jungle example, getting education is one of the most simple things in the world that people everywhere need and want, knowledge is wanted by people just as much love or other humane desires believe it or not, having said this, human have brains and intelligence in order to keep improving it further and so knowing about such insanely general facts(just knowing about religion) is needed. Some cultures is what stops people from obtaining general knowledge because of the fear of it changing or being inaccurate or unhealthy or simply and subjectively, just "wrong". Most of the time, you do have the choice to learn, it's just that you don't for other reasons.
