This question just hit me..

Remember, both Nagato (a full blooded Uzumaki) and Tsunade (an Uzumaki descendant via female line) becomes old and frail upon using up so much chakra.. Remember, yes, Tsunade is old, but she is not that old.. yes is around Jiraiya's age so she is old, but that that old she she is exhausted of her chakra.. fact is, we have never seen her on her normal form without experiencing chakra exhaustion.. Also, Nagato is probably slightly older than Minato, so he is obviously not that old.. but he is portrayed as a frail man enthroned in some sort of contraption continously using chakra comsuming jutsus..

also, i found this statement from Karin, another scion of the Uzumaki Clan..

i tried to look back if Kushina ever experienced the same thing, but sadly, there are not instances where Kushina was ever exhausted of chakra so we might never know.. same goes for Hashirama's consort, Mito..

so what are your opinions regarding this matter?

Anyone without chakara will die and get weak , uzumaki's are jsut constantly getting their chakara used because they have so much.

yes.. there have been many to grew weak and died due to chakra exhaustion but none of them outside of the Uzumaki heritage have been shown to grow old and frail like Tsunade and Nagato..

Well, I don't think we can consider Tsunade as an example here.
The reason why Shizune stated she would grow old was because of the healing jutsu she was using, not due to chakra exhaustion. It was explained that she healed by speeding up her cell division rate. But a body's cells can only split a certain number of times in a lifetime, and by speeding up this process she's basically shortening her life span.

I think the reason she looks older than Jiraiya is due to the aforementioned healing she keeps using on herself. She just speeds up her own aging process. It's more of a physical problem than a chakra related one.

In Nagato's case, I don't think he looked old. He just seemed malnourished at first when he lost chakra due to Gedo Mazo. The aging part came along when he actually managed to kill himself due to chakra loss.

And last, but not least; Kisame.
He showed the same symptoms as Nagato when he was chakra depleted.

I think the reason why there are more Uzumaki examples that show the physical effects of chakra loss is because they have a vast amount of chakra and a very strong life force to begin with. Kakashi just died when he overexerted himself, but Tobi mentioned that even wrenching a tailed beast of out Kushina was unable to kill her, due to her Uzumaki heritage. So, I think the Uzumaki can survive chakra depletion while others probably can't. That may be the reason why they tend to look so shriveled up instead of just dying. :)

I think the answer you're looking for is called aging. Google it.
aging is a certainty but a 56 year old female and a 40ish male looking like a hundred year old living corpse (looks far older than aged Homura and Koharu) defies the normal cycle of aging and another descendant that she too will grow old if her chakra were to be depleted too much states more than the obvious my good sir..

Kind of incorrect.

Nagato first off, had his life force inherently stripped from him the first time he summoned the Gedo Mazou against Hanzo and the Anbu from the root. That is why he is so skinny and bony when we see Naruto confront him. When he chose to revive everyone with Rinne Tensei the only characteristic of his body that changed was his hair and this was due to chakra over exertion. Not to mention, the Rinnegan itself needs a lot of life force and chakra to use in the first place (something Nagato had) so using it to Rinne Tensei's extent would drain him considerably of life force (to the already established point of hair color dilution).

Tsunade is far different. The reason she looked old during the Pein Arc was not because of over exertion of chakra (although she used a considerable amount to heal the village). It was because the chakra exerted was enough to cancel her age manipulation seal that let her look young. The properties of that technique dictate faster cell division which kept her looking young. With the seal inactive the "true" Tsunade, with normal wear and tear and normal cell division was shown. This is why she looked so worn out.

I think it's two different situation there has been two times when Karin was out of chakra that she can bearly stand and heal herself and she did not get old. Now Nagoto situation is that he was pretty much sick and still injured from the time he had summon the gedo and tsunade situation is explain it's a side effect of the jutsu rapidly dividing and creating new cell speed up her ageing process and if you think about wouldn't that be the same thing as shortening ones life span

I think Tsunade looks aged (like 80 instead of 50 so it can't just be that she's simply showing her actual age) because she keeps using her healing jutsus.

1. One reason she looks so old is because the youth effects of her jutsu wear off plus she's already divided her cells to their limit: The reason old people look old is because of the slowed division rate of the cells. Skin loses elasticity, muscles lose tone, etc.

2. Another reason might be frailty from running out of so much chakra. Malnourished and weak people can look aged. Nagato, Kisame, and Kurama when Naruto took its chakra.

3. Her symptoms might be a combination of both.

I don't think there is evidence that Uzumakis get old when they use up too much chakra.
