7th Gate Gai has shown devastating and immense speed, the liked of which has never been showcased in the manga. JinMads even had to retreat for a few attacks.

Can he make it to the top ten list?

It all depends on how he holds up against Itachi, who coincidentally was one of the ones who respected Guy's power and warned the Akatsuki not once, but twice of the danger of underestimating him. He is immune to Sharingan Genjutsu, the 6th Gate [Lee dodged the balls of Omnyoudon] should be enough to dodge Amaterasu, and remember what happened to Madara's Susano'o from Hirudora.

Tobirama isn't making the top 10 without some confirmed Edos for the KINJUTSU Edo Tensei.

I believe Gai could beat Itachi. 7th Gate would be a requirement, but I believe he could.

For real tho....he is Kakashi's "rival for life" and has beaten him on a pretty 50/50 basis, so I think he should be ranked the same as Kakashi. Different styles but same capabilities as far as it comes to sacrificing yourself for your friends.

Gai has always been in my Top 5 favorites but I don't know how I feel about top 10 yet due to his speed + power he's able to scare even Madera. I guess 8th gate Gai is Top Ten material. But even then winning a fight is surviving the aftermath.

8th Gate Guy will be above the likes of BSM Naruto, probably above SM Hashirama as well. It was said to above the Hokage.

Trust me when I say that 8th Gate Guy is likely second only to Jubi jinchurikis so it shouldn't be included in his top 10 spot.

The gates are super badass and everything but it ****s you up and you cant maintain it for long.
All you have to do is fend off your opponent long enough for them to go out of gates mode and then end them real quick.
Easy mode.

Why does it fair on he relies against Itachi? Are you trying to say that Itachi is number 10? Anyways, I think Gai is fully capable of beating Itachi.
