its not as strong as tsukyomi or KA, its on the same level as normal sharingan genjutsu, just enough to trick the opponents mind and body and make itachi have the advantage. he controls what the opponent sees and hear. unlike tsukyomi which he controls time, space, and his opponents fate.

Genjutsu is all about distraction.

Genjutsu isn't mean to kill. It's used to make an opening, after which you deal a secondary, likely fatal blow.

If Itachi casts Ephemeral (the actual name of the jutsu) and you're distracted for those 2-3 seconds, he could literally kill you in 20 different ways - his proficient water/fire releases, Amaterasu, kunai, Yasaka Magatama, Susanoo SMASH! etc.

Basically, Ephemeral cast by Itachi is pretty much = to instant death.

In some threads i see people saying that Itachi will win thanks to finger genjutsu or something, but if it's the case, then what about the genjutsu Kakashi used against Sakura, then?

So am i wrong if i say that the finger genjutsu is not as strong as people think? We saw that Naruto who had bad chakra control was almost able to break it, so i don't think that ninjas who have perfect chakra control could fall for it.

What do you think?

It's not that strong. Look here how Naruto finds out that he was trapped in a genjutsu. Notice how Itachi uses handseal to perform this tech. This tech affects the vision and not the mind.

Ephimeral is pretty strong. I think it's only purpose is to suit Itachi's pacifist nature by simply immobilising the opponent effortlessly. In battle it can be used to make an opening though.
