I think technology is screwing people over to an extent but Facebook is only one social media that young people don't even use anymore.

society will be society. it would simply change. facebook is causing a negative change.

what destroys society is war, injection and poverty.

Social media kills productivity. That's why I don't use it.

**** that guy, he's a loser...and it's obvious. When I see someone full of crap, that's IT.

That guy is full of it and he's such a liar.

Think for yourselves, and stop hopping on every bandwagon.

Who cares, if you're no better...you just shouldn't be talking.

Stop worrying about it.Your stance is just old-fashioned/rule-based.

I made a point. You people are just full of shit. Seriously.

I hate when jealous people project onto other people and ACT like they know what they're talking about.

It's absolutely clear...

you're the psuedo intellectual...and so unoriginal, biased, and fabricated.

Difference between you and me...I'm no self-entitled genius, and I don't "identify" with having intelligence, that's just retarded.Get a life, kid.

None of you are any better than anyone who is on social media. You all are just as toxic, or even more...

Nobodies watching you...

1.Everyone should care or else why did you even bother to post a comment let alone reply ?

2.Nobody said, hinted or implied superiority for not using Facebook or using it less than others.

I hate when jealous people project onto other people and ACT like they know what they're talking about.

Projection at its finest.

People pay so much attention to social media nowadays, they are literally absorbed in it.
Unfortunately, you have to have a social page if you want to be connected to your friends. The main thing here is to be objective, do your own research before you believe the posts, and don't get influenced by biased opinion.

I can only agree. I remember in early 2000 till late 2000 (2000-2010), so many kids were spending time outside you know. Playing football together, running after each other and playing hide n seek, all sort of games where the kids had to be present physically. That made all the kids get to know each other and develop based on social interactions with a physical approach. These kids learnt facial impression based on what emotions were present, and if you compare them with todays kids, they basically win on social interaction (physically). If we're capable of interacting with each other in real life, we're also more likely to be successful and our overall happiness increases (better networking, as in we have friends, real friends). I have two cousins, the only time where they socialize physically is at elementary school. They also socialize on the internet through games like Roblox and Minecraft, but how many hours do you spend at home compared to at school? I see in my cousins that they lack certain things, it's hard to explain because I'm not a psychologist, but you know, basic things like learning how to understand others and act based on their body language or facial expression.

I would've loved to go into details, but I don't think it would end since this subject is rather huge and very debatable.

Definitely. I spent my child years up to 2010-2011, everything was about basektball, riding bikes down steep hills, all that ish. At this point it's video games and social media.

If a relative dies, everyone posts about it, social media is weakening people.

While FB isn't that much popular with the kids nowadays, it is definitely the platform along with grandpa Myspace which created an avalanche of "social" networks we have today.

Facebook is not "destroying" our society, but it did lethargize, and antisocialize millions of people worldwide.

Past tense.

Facebook is here for the 15th year folks...

I'm not saying it's a bad thing to have it, in some aspects of life having a social network profile of any kind is a must, but letting yourselves to be consumed by it...that's just mind - boggling.

There was this one scene that struck me like thunder several years back, I was in my hometown on vacation, it was a beautiful spring sunny day; and while going out in the afternoon I see 7,8 kids on the playground in front of my building; all 12 and 13 year olds.

They weren't shooting some hoops, they weren't playing football, they weren't riding their bikes, skateboards, played catch nor did absolutely any activity other than mindlessly staring at their phones, while talking about some android games and facebook likes. On that same playground me and my generation left our hearts, earned our first bruises, first broken limbs, had our first fights and first kisses. On that same playground two dozen of us would play daily after school and troughout the weekend.

At that moment I got saddened and thought to myself: "My generation was the last one that had a proper childhood..."

I'm not generalizing and saying that all kids are like that, but am sadly sure of the fact that younger generations are slowly and surely socially dumbed down and zombified by fb and other "social" networks.

I too remember when we were outside getting hurt learning to be social learning who friend & who foe is good, bad left, right, right an wrong.. The first kiss on the yard playing & fiddling with the girls..
The playgrounds where I'm at are all gone an kids don't play outside anymore..
those things I don't see today. Every1's got their heads down on ipads ipods pc's an cells that it's like zombieland out here or they just don't come outside..

Social media or just a constant form of entertainment is draining the populace, It's a drag to me when I see such low energy people..
