You have to admit that Sasuke has gained lots of mental pain, if not necessarily physical hardships, from gaining some of his powers. I mean he was under the constant pressure of killing him brother as a life-long dream, so he was sure to have trained vigorously during that time. I mean he left the leaf village so he could get the power to kill Itachi later - that had to require some mental fighting.

Experience is significant in battles, but it doesn't always ensure victory, the main reason being that certain traits that each character possesses within the Naruto Universe hinders the fact that they have more knowledge of battle. A few examples include:

Orochimaru:
A snake-like shinobi who had amassed an enormous amount of experience throughout the course of his lifetime, both on the battlefield and off of it. However, his arrogant attitude about the depths of his own power, in addition to believing that everyone else was soo far beneath him, led to him to losing his arms to Hiruzen's Reaper Death Seal technique. It also led to his defeat/repression by Sasuke, and ultimately, his sealing by Itachi.

Deidara:
The bomb terrorist was well skilled in battle, and there's no doubt he had more experience than Sasuke. However, his hatred for the Sharingan, and the fact that Sasuke had managed to evade everything that he threw at him, led to him loosing control, ultimately choosing to commit suicide in order to make Sasuke see the beauty in his 'art' (which also failed).

Kakazu:
Having fought the First Hokage, there's no telling how much experience Kakazu had gained by the time he faced Naruto. Despite that, and the fact that he was able to analyze how destructive Rasenshuriken would be if it were to hit him, he dismissed the fact that Naruto would be able to hit him, severely underestimating his opponents' capabilities, an act that ended up costing him his life.

Danzo:
Another old storehouse of knowledge, yet he still lost to Sasuke. Despite his vast knowledge of the Sharingan and its techniques, his contempt and underestimation of Sasuke's intellect and abilities in battle ultimately led to his defeat.

He hasn't had one lick of training with MS
tobi said sending sasuke to the summit was specifically to train up Sasuke's MS through combat.

Another old storehouse of knowledge, yet he still lost to Sasuke. Despite his vast knowledge of the Sharingan and its techniques, his contempt and underestimation of Sasuke's intellect and abilities in battle ultimately led to his defeat.
it was a combination of factors. sasukes near perfect defence, karin healing sasuke beforehand and after danzo rammed a fuuton sword through sasukes gut, tobi being there and helping sasuke on one occasion, prompting danzo to hold back for fear of tobi entering the fight, shisuis eye being on recharge time since the summit (if he had it hed have instantly won), and stopping to lecture sasuke about itachi instead of just killing him when he had sasuke paralysed by the curse seal. and above all, plot shield. same with deidara and kakuzu. ultimately plot is the one shield no villain can break.

However, his arrogant attitude about the depths of his own power, in addition to believing that everyone else was soo far beneath him, led to him to losing his arms to Hiruzen's Reaper Death Seal technique. It
actually he was confused and disappointed in hiruzens performance, and said hed never seen hiruzen in pain before. the only time he stopped and decided to toy around is when hiruzen said he had a jutsu even oro didnt know and oro wanted to see it.

With Sasuke its " HERP OH YOU HAVE MS HERE ARE THESE POWERS! YOU DON"T NEED TO WORK TO USE THEM DERP! JUST WAIT AWHILE AND THEY WILL REACH FULL POTENTIAL WITHOUT HARD WORK HERP DERP!"
sasuke did work. through combat. he faced life threatening epic battles one after the other, pushed so far he went blind. on his path to MS, he faced countless battles training under Oro and defeating deidara/itachi.

Actually in my honest opinion, Naruto's not all that different from Sasuke. The whole reason for Naruto's power was because of Nine Tails fox. Sure, you may say that he managed to learn Rasegan and Sage Mode and controlling the Nine Tail Fox Chakra all by himself with some guidance from his teachers, but needless to say, if the Nine Tails Fox would not have been sealed into him, he'd be as worthless as random chunnins who die the moment some random monster invades Konoha.
Except the fact his mom was a jin so regardless he would of ended up with a big chakra amount..

Saying Naruto without 9-tails inside = fodder who dies randomly is like saying Kakashi without Obito's Sharingan = random fodder who dies randomly..which is far from the truth considering Kakashi was a jounin at 13 before Sharingan..

The debate over Naruto vs Sasuke in power/training exist because Sasuke hasn't been shown doing anything to get power other then..
1.Curse Mark
2.Itachi gives MS
3.Tobi gives EMS
4.Walks, gets power up

vs

1.Rasengan in part 1, took a while..
2. Element training for Wind (cutting waterfall)
3.Rasen Shuriken(Kakazu version that was banned by Tsunade because of the self injury it causes)
4.Sage mode
5.Thrown version of Rasenshuriken he did in secret while SM training
6.Kyuubi mode (was kinda ez..he still had to put in work)
7.Bijuu Mode (more talk then anything, still had to put in work)

Where as Naruto has to do a bunch of crap Sasuke doesn't do anything but have surgery and walk around with emo smile while getting more power ups, he may have trained his Lightning skills during time with Orochimaru but he hasnt done anything since then..

Anyway OT: Experience means nothing in Naruto, Naruto beat Kakazu, Sasuke beat Deidara, Naruto beat Pain, all of the beaten had way more experience then the victor..
Sakura even beat Sasori, with Chiyo but still..STILL..(thats a battle i wanna see, the battle that gave Sasori his name "Of the Red Sand" cuz he turned the sand red with blood)

Sasuke beat Danzo, Danzo had like 12 sharingans+senju dna + was old as hell+was head of anbu/root, didn't mean anything vs 16 yr old Sasuke with hardly any experience

i think realistically it should give an edge.. but then again naruto beat kakuzu who had over a hundred years of experience... so id say in the narutoverse experience really doesnt count for anything
Well kakuzu Had lost Two hearts and had a long fight with Kakashi befor he started fighting Naruto.

Kakuzu Caught Naruto and Kakashi and Yamato had to Save him.

Kakuzu also underestimated Naruto and was to overconfident, He knew Naruto was Behind him but he Though it was a Clone, he Paid for his Mistake.

its not really a big factor IMO but it helps decide the fight.

kakuzku > naruto in experience he fought with the 1st hokage yet he still lost to naruto.
