Online dating isn't the best. Like the other person said, it's not very personal, and people aren't always on those sights for the right reasons. You never know who you're really talking too plus it seems like most women have a low tolerance/high expectations because they probably get a lot of pig headed pm's from guys who just want ***. Joined a sight before the new year, but suspended my membership because it wasn't really effective even though I was making non creepy attempts to talk to girls. Better to just get out there and try your luck. Be confident, find a good wing man, and don't be a douche. Just be open and the rest will fall into place.

edit: Obviously you'll have more outlets for meeting women if you're 21+. If you're still in hs then you'll have to work with what's immediate. When I was in hs everyone in my social circle had dated each other, so I didn't get a serious gf until my senior year and she was from another school in my district. It was very unexpected the way that it ended up working out so conveniently. Join clubs, play sports, participate in events, etc.

I'm currently with someone, have been for 8 months, we've skyped, text, kik, talk on the phone, send pics, gifts, write letters.
Sure, some ppl are fake online but if you really wanna make it work, you gotta be honest and hope the other person is. In my case she's 100% real, you can't fake skyping or video taping yourself many times, sending love messages with cams.
