Itachi had MS at that age and soled the whole Uchiha clan and put fear in Obito! Dude even put fear in Danzo. Danzo didn't have the balls to cross him like he did to shisui.
Itachi will always be first class singularly prodigy and genius in NV history!
Sasuke already told Itachi how he knew even Itachi couldn't take on the whole Uchiha clan and we find out that Obiti helped him take out the clan. Danzo wasn't scared of Itachi, he blacked threaten Itachi into taking out the Uchiha clan by saying he can either die with them or save Sasuke. Minato is a higher class of Prodigy, Jiraiya said they have not seen a genius like Minato since Minato and Itachi didn't become a ninja until after Minato died and Jiraiya knows about Itachi from his spying on Akatsuki and Konoha records. Ninjas who came after Minato are Itachi, Shisui, Sasuke, Neji, Gaara, Shikamaru, ect... Tsunade never denied this either even though she denied the fact that there wasn't anyone else who could be Hokage after Tsunade; Tsunade said there's Kakashi and Naruto. Jiraiya says fair enough with Kakashi and that Naruto wasn't ready so even Tsunade believed what Jiraiya said about Minato.
Itachi died at age 21 and Minato at age 24, neither made it to their primes which is between ages 30-40 for many ninjas. Had Minato lived, he would have been 40-41. Minato would have been much stronger and have bigger feats but plot needed Minato dead so the story could go how Kishi wanted it too.
The day Naruto fans stop claiming that Naruto beat Nagato in a fight, will be the day I'll tone down on Itachi's sole-ness!
Naruto, Bee, and Edo Itachi beat Edo Nagato but that's about it. SM Naruto beat Pein but both weren't at full power. Deva path couldn't use his power and Nagato used a lot of chakra prior to fighting Naruto while Naruto was training before returning to Konoha and even then Naruto made 2 clones which mean he was at 1/3rd the power of his non-full power state. So neither one were at full power but if both were at full power then Naruto would have lost.
I don't know how far his Prodigal abilities go. We just have trailers to go by.
He can't be better than Itachi, though Minato he seems to be surpassing.
Minato is a higher prodigy than Itachi, Jiraiya said they haven't had a genius like Minato since Minato and prodigies who became ninjas after Minato died are Itachi, Sasuke, Neji, Shisui, and Shikamaru. Itachi has the advantage of having a KKG that helps him analyze jutsus and read movements while Minato had none yet was highly feared and well respected; he fought A and Bee on more than one occasion.
