naruto had one overarching plot

Boruto kinda just does whatever
First it was shin uchiha then momoshiki and then kara

all groups that have nothing to do with each other and even if they didt, there's no connection between these arcs beyond the same characters being involved

and with naruto
each arc connected

chunnin exams lead into directly into the search for tsunade arc as they need to fetch her to fix sasuke after itachi messed him up
and even after that point, sasuke went to join orochimaru cause of how he was having no chances at getting revenge with his constant failure and then as you know that whole thing started the sasuke retrieval mission

which followed into shippuden with naruto's motive throughout that series trying to rescue sasuke

comparing boruto to naruto
is like comparing a trash bin to a gold bar

  • If you're invested in the Naruto universe and want to see how the story progresses beyond Naruto's era, "Boruto" manga offers a continuation. It explores the next generation of ninjas, focusing on Naruto's son, Boruto Uzumaki, and his teammates.
  • The manga delves into the growth and development of Boruto and other new characters, providing insights into their abilities, struggles, and relationships. It also revisits familiar characters from Naruto, showing how they've evolved as adults and mentors.
  • "Boruto" introduces new themes and challenges, such as technological advancements and political intrigue, alongside traditional ninja conflicts. It explores how the ninja world has changed since Naruto's time and addresses societal issues relevant to its modern setting.

Yes, if you're a Naruto fan, the Boruto manga is worth reading. It starts slow but improves significantly, especially from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex arc onward. The story deepens, the art is sharp, and the stakes get higher.
