Is any manga fight ever truly fair?

Is any manga fight ever truly fair? I mean, we all have heard that Hashirama is stronger than Madara but that is because of pure plot convenience. If Madara had used Izanagi in the VoTe instead of at his grave then im pretty sure an extremely tired Hashirama wouldnt be able to fight against a fully powered, one eyed Madara (we know he could still use Susanoo as he did so in the Shinobi World War arc with no eyes).

Therefore, isnt every fight that has ever taken place in Naruto or any other manga just not fair as in the end the main character has to win and that automatically places a barrier on the villain power, therefore not being fair at all.

I think you're looking too much into it. Besides, if Madara hadn't faked his death, no story. And that's what this is: a story. It's not real & people (not you) acting & arguing like it is is just plain stupid. Every fight that a person has won or lost is all about plot, convenience & progressing the story. No mater what he/she could/couldn't do, it doesn't matter--if it played out in the exact opposite as people want it there's no story.

you're forgetting the fact that Madara must've also been pretty tired.
Izanagi doesn't restore 100% of your chakra and stamina resources, does it?

Madara was so tired he couldn't even see the difference between real Hashirama and a Wood Clone.

Yes and no. I understand what you are asking, but you are asking the wrong question. Every manga has the potential for "fair" fights. However, it is not the manga's job to make the fights fair. It is the writing/the storyteller's job. If the writer is good, then he will balance the fight properly, or not have the fight happen at all.

In Naruto, I would be hard pressed to call any fight [in Part 2] fair. All of them had some element of BS to them, especially towards the end. The writing got lazy and incoherent.

Madara was written to be basically a God, and because of this when Madara was shown fighting in the war arc, he was always hindered. Kishimoto even admitted, while the war arc was still being released weekly, that he did not know how the characters were going to defeat him.

That was bad writing. Its completely fine to have a character [Madara] be the most powerful character at the moment, but then it's the writers job to enforce that fact.

If he had used izanagi earlier, he would have lost susanoo and would be even more humiliated. Izanagi is useless against sensors because they would immediately know you have respawned.

And no, no fight is fair. One side usually comes with more preparations and advantages.

Keeping the topic about fairness in fights aside, the reason why Madara did not do that was because he wanted to fake his death and let everyone including Hashirama know that he died so that he could work in secrecy. Killing Hashirama would ruin this plan entirely.

The only time where I think main character beat the stronger oppenent in IC mode(in character) is P1 Naruto vs Kabuto because he was being the usual Kabuto and he would not expect Naruto to make such a move.
I can say Lee lost to Gaara pretty fair but Gaara is more of a main character then Lee.
